Francis was a boy born into an uncaring family of Sheena Island. His mother was a singer in a club. James Farinella worked under Umbrella on a project to turn kids of a special blood type into Hypnos T-type Tyrant. he kept his family obviously since he had a young son, during the fall of the town when 'Vincent' showed up and exposed it all Francine Farinella locked her then 13 year old son and pet dog on his father's prized boat and went out to find her husband wanting to flee the island. Francis could do no more then watch and beat on the window as he saw Francine ripped apart by one of the Tyrants when she left the boat. He was left trapped in the boat for almost a month after the place was blown up the blast had sent the little boat out too sea, His father had assumed he was dead and evacuated claiming to be a civilian and then went to work for Wilpharma. When he was finally able to break free of the boat when it washed ashore. He had survived off of food supplies that his father had left on the boat for long trips and when he ran out of food his hunger and slipping sanity lead him to eat his dog Alec. When he was found he was taken to a sanitarium for a psychiatric evaluation his story was sent to those who knew the most of Umbrella but was mostly ignored. When he turned 17 he was set free of the orphanage he had been in and had taken to traveling. He has not been right since the his month on the boat though. The boy has sworn if he ever sees his father again he will murder him.
| PERSONALITY
Francis is a man who wears masks. He is never truely showing what he feels, he always tries to wear a chipper happy face for everyone. Almost mirroring a hyperactive child. He tries to come off as super supportive and ready to play along. In truth he actually hates a lot of the people he meets and speaks too, knowing better then most that everyone is two faced. If you get him to trust you then congratulations you've just gained the most loyal friend you will ever get. You break that trust you will never be able to fully get it back. [ here's looking at you Sherry.] Francis is a loner, he hates crowds and prefers to be by himself in a dark little corner with his electronics more then around people.
Because of the events on Sheena Island, finding out his father was making monsters for umbrella, seeing his mother literally ripped apart and eaten in front of him by said monster after a lot of other gore and being forced to survive a month on a boat by eating his cherished family pet the guy's got some massive mental scarring. He spent 5 years in a mental health facility he was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and depression. Treated as a liar every time he told what happened to him and how he ended up on the boat he quickly learned no one wanted the truth they wanted someone to smile and act like everything was okay. So that's where his mask came from.
His background mostly comes up clean, except for being arrested a few time's in Reno for drug possession. He spent a year hooked on heroine before getting himself checked into rehab being put back on Amisulpride for his episodes and released clean six months later Francis turned to electronics as he had in his early teens to cut himself away from the world. He feels more at peace with the electronics, he's a master hacker and can build and repair almost anything from your iPhone to your car's computer. If it's got tech, he can work on it.
Also; when he comes down off of the Amisulpride the first few days he is completely jumbled and confused. Once his body adjusts he either becomes a complete jerk or locks himself away until he's ready to go back on the medicine its rare for him to take himself off but he does now and then.

He has a vast knowlage of music and fighting styles of the world that has fallen apart around him and the young woman Alex he saved and is then traveling with. He hails from a fucked up post apocolptic monster infested world romance story...Resident Evil works...
